Happy Holidays from Lee, Tom & Checkerz
Dear Friends and Family,
What a year 2020 has been! We wanted to reach out to all our friends and family to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, Hanukkah Sameach, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year! There are so many things we are grateful for in a year that many of us will be happy to see the end of.
The year has been filled with ups and downs. Stress was high in March and April with the fear of getting sick, losing our jobs, and wondering what the future would look like. Lee is accustomed to working in an office Monday to Friday, while Tom is used to being away from home for days at a time. In March Lee transitioned to working from home, while Tom’s flying hours were dramatically reduced. We found ourselves with a lot of time together… Thankfully we were able to find a good balance. We got an incredible amount of work done on the house and back yard. Conveniently outdoor socializing was the recommended way to hang out with friends and family. We completed our fire pit and social area in the back yard and were able to stay connected safely.
One of the biggest highlights of this year was adopting Checkerz from a kill shelter in Georgia. We did a lot of thinking and planning on what will need to happen post-pandemic, but ultimately we could not have been happier. He was scared and pretty skinny when we got him, but now is a happy, confident member of our family. We are not entirely sure what his breed mix is, but we suspect part pit bull, border collie, and lab based on similar dogs. We are definitely spoiling Checkerz with couch privileges and lots of walks. He is still a little wary of new people, but once he knows you it seems his loyalty to us wavers, especially if you have treats. He saw snow for the first time in October and was not impressed.
With everything that has happened this year, we have really enjoyed time connecting with friends and family, whether in person or via the internet. This year we started our friend and family picture wall. With so many pictures being shared online it is nice to have a handful of physical pictures to enjoy. Our picture wall is in our kitchen, so we see it every day. We would love to add to our wall. If you have a chance please send us a picture or two so we can add it to our wall.
With lots of love, we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, Hanukkah Sameach, Happy Holidays, and a safe new year!
